Drowning in adoption paperwork

If you are wondering where I am, I'm probably buried under mounds of adoption paperwork! Seriously, this adoption is going to become my full time job (and I promise not to ONLY write about it).

I knew that there would be a lot of paperwork involved, but frankly, I wasn't expecting this much. If I can get Big Daddy on my masterful plan it will take us about a month just to fill it all out and then another month to chase around all the government agencies and companies that we need to cooperate to get our paperwork turned in on time.  That said, I'm hoping to have it all completed by September 15th.

This past week we turned in our first packet, got fingerprinted, filled out all the releases for background checks required (county, city, state and national), and started ordering copies of the various documents required.

In some ways having so much to do helps right now. Each paper I complete brings us one step closer to realizing God's plan for our family. That is a comfort when I get anxious.

Wish me luck with finishing everything by September 15th---- I'm probably going to need it!

Oh, yeah! It's a HUGE stack of papers, isn't it? And they ask about things you'd never think they'd ask!

That is the right attitude to have, my friend!

Praying for you. God doesn't place a burden on your heart and call you to action without preparing the way for you.

Love you!

I'm a proud Christian homeschooling mother of 5 and wife to a Road Warrior CEO. Four of our children came through the miracle of IVF and 1 through the miracle of adoption. Before I became a home educator I was a interior decorator, event planner, store owner and professional organizer! Now I get to use my past professional skills (and a few new ones) to the benefit of my family and our home.
