News Flash #3

The cheating selfish political candidate John Edwards finally got around to admitting he is Rielle Hunter's Baby Daddy. This doesn't bode too well for Elizabeth Edwards who cannot even say her name and spits blood when she mentions the child, who she claimed on Oprah was NOT her children's sibling...If only it was that easy Elizabeth.

The first Lady, Michelle Obama, is taking a stand on childhood obesity. While I'm all for taking such an important stand, as a Republican I have to chuckle to myself over this quote: "This isn’t something that will be fixed by just a bill in Congress or an executive order from the president. And I know that the last thing you all need right now is a bunch of commands from Washington or a ton of red tape that makes it hard for you to get anything done at all.." Because, isn't big government all about making bills, passing laws and a bunch of red tape? Aren't there some things in life that people have to actually do for themselves? Such as take responsibility for the proper raising of their children? Is it really that hard to believe that government isn't the answer to every problem in the world?

Everything you read about Haiti is heartbreaking, but I couldn't even finish reading this article before breaking down in tears. Read it at your own risk.

Oprah is calling for drivers and cell phone users everywhere to sign a No Phone Zone pledge because of this story that recently aired on her show. I am so very guilty of doing this (taking calls while driving, not texting)...and its stupid. Yet, I kinda think signing the Oprah pledge is sort of stupid too.

Haha! For some reason, I don't like the idea of signing anything! I'm so glad you watch the news so that I can be informed!

And um, yeah, like the government can "cure" child obesity! LOL

Politics is awesome.

We don't need more red tape? I think President Obama should listen more to his wife and less to his advisors! (Either that or Mrs. Obama is blowing smoke.)

I would click over if I didn't detest Oprah SO MUCH. I realize I am in the national minority. Other women might be swayed by freebies and feel good rah-rah, but I will not. Ack. Better stop before I say something unpleasant! :)

Politics always gets me riled up. That and stupid people.

I am glad that you aren't stupid. That's why we can be friends!

Love ya!

*shaming on my finger move* that John Edwards should be ashamed of himself. *still doing the shame on my finger move*

Mrs. Obama - I get so frustrated at WHAT she says and then at HOW she says it. I just don't watch anymore. The Red Cross commercial was the worse with her eyes blared and moving with the teleprompter. Speak from the heart already. Enough with the canned messages. *rant over*

Oh that Oprah. Glad she has ba-zillions, but enough already.

I know I just mentioned watching Oprah, but really, I very rarely do. Only if a story sparks my interest. I can't stand her and she thinks she's Oh-so-important so everyone should do what she says. Yeah, people shouldn't use the phone or text while driving, but I'm not going to stop because Oprah says to, kwim?

And yeah, people need to take responsibility for themselves and their children. Having some sort of bill about preventing childhood obesity isn't going to do much.
