Like most mothers of young infants or toddlers, I am not a fan of daylight savings.
It really comes as no surprise to me that this was invented by a man. A woman, particularly a mother would never in a million years think this was a good idea.
So, as I got up once again at the crack of dawn with our littlest one, I went to my computer to look up who invented such a thing and how on earth he was able to talk everyone into following along.
To my shock I read that although George Vernon Hudson first proposed the idea (it was shot down) it was William Willet, "an avid golfer who disliked having his game cut short at dusk", who is largely credited for inventing daylight savings time.

A golfer.
I should have known!
Curses!

This is hilarious. Thank you for sharing.
I am not a fan of daylight savings time! It just takes to long to get the kids adjusted to a time change!
Stopping by to welcome you to SITS! It's great to have you in the SITStahood!
LOL! I surprised how quickly my kids adapted to the time change. Thank goodness!
I came by to welcome you to SITS! We're happy to have you with us!
Oh my gosh, I have a big problem with daylight savings time. I mean, hello, my kids are wanting to go to bed at 5:00 pm because it's pitch dark out here in NJ. I have to keep them up at least until 7pm if I don't want them to wake up in the middle of the night. Of course it was a man, and a golfer, who developed this concept. Argh!
That's too funny. I'm not a fan of it either - it is awful on nap time for my littlest one. Just popping by from SITS to say hello & welcome you aboard. Have a great weekend.
Haha! Daylight savings time is what I'm blaming for my recent 8pm bedtimes...although it's probably just a good excuse to go to bed when old people go to bed :)
i actually like it. :) it makes everyone nice and sleepy at a decent hour. i think summer and sunshine just hang around for way too long here in houston!
