I've started accessorizing our foyer and I wanted to share it with you. The two mirrors and lamps are actually antique architectural elements from Europe remade into something new.
The two chairs (pictured above) may not stay. I'm still on the fence about whether they make the foyer are just a bit too much. I generally like clean lines and pride myself on not making my decorating too fussy. Below is a picture of the same area without the chairs...
Which do you prefer?
Should I keep the chairs or take them out?

I prefer it without the chairs. In our house, that's just asking to have stuff dumped on it or kids jumping off of it! :) Plus, I think less is more.
Hi Karin,
I prefer the foyer without the chairs. I think (at least per the picture) that the chairs actually seem a little too small and their color is not really "blending in." I think the lamps and table and the wall hangings look great together!
Hmmn. The chairs are fussy and serve no purpose but they are pretty. It looks a little empty when you take them away.
I love the look without the chairs.
It depends on who would need them. If you have older people (guests) who would need to sit while they remove their shoes, leave them. If you have younger kids who are going to only jump on them, take them away. Either way, I think you did a wonderful job!
Hi sweet friend! I la la la luuuuv the chairs, but not on that wall. It's too cramped and they deserve more space than that! Is there space for a small vignette across from this table where you can use these with a small round table between? Check out Cote De Texas blog today for a little inspiration. The houses she is featuring today are right up your alley. Very similar design aesthetic. Let's catch up soon...give some love to the kiddos for me!
I say without. There just isn't enough room and they do tend to blend in with the background. Of course, it really depends on whether you are going for beauty or practicality. I can see that the chairs would serve a purpose if this was an entry the family would be using often.
