Kids, they aren't like us.

When I was a child my mother was always late picking me up.
As if it wasn't embarassing enough to be the last one picked up, I also had to hear from the annoyed teacher or counselor who took it out on me while I waited. Once or twice I even hid in the bushes pretending my Mom picked me up on time so that I could wait alone without the teacher or camp counselor yelling at me the entire time.

So, it goes without saying that I'm absolutely obsessed about being there early to pick up my kids. I never want them to be the last one picked up. Ever.

Well, wouldn't you know it? My kids absolutely hate that.

"Mom, why do you always have to be the first mom here?"

Kids.
Go figure!

Mine are the same way! In fact, just last week I was instructed "Remember, pick me up LAST from choir next time".

:snort: maybe you should hide out in the bushes so you can be the next-to-the-last one there!

Oh my gosh that is so funny! I have a feeling I'm going to be a smothering mother because I feel like my mom was not involved in my life enough. Crap, my kids are going to hate me!

I'm a proud Christian homeschooling mother of 5 and wife to a Road Warrior CEO. Four of our children came through the miracle of IVF and 1 through the miracle of adoption. Before I became a home educator I was a interior decorator, event planner, store owner and professional organizer! Now I get to use my past professional skills (and a few new ones) to the benefit of my family and our home.
