Author Programs is a section where you can search for your favorite author by name, selecting grade level and/or curriculum subject. Each Author Program includes: 5 minute documentary movie (viewable in 3 sizes), biography, related web links and in-depth written interview. This feature will no doubt bring you closer to the author and perhaps make you love a favorite author even more as you find out more special details----such as Patricia Polacco's admission that there are two universal patterns that are in all of her books. One is a goat and the other you have to discover for yourself!
Book Guides help you extend the story into a lesson. Because they come for a variety of sources they are not universally designed but can be individually unique, like the authors and stories they tell.
Book Readings link to video or audio where the story is read by an actor and sometimes the author.
Author Websites provides a comprehensive list of author's official website where you will find a variety of information on the author, activities, downloads and most importantly a mailing address or email address where children/students can write to their favorite author.
The Educators Area is a free and separate section of the site where educators can access all materials available in the TeachingBooks database.

have a suggestion of something I would love for you to blog about. What do you do with old magazines? Do you have any good storage ideas or systems for saving or filing articles/photos that are important so that the rest of the magazine can be recycled? We subscribe to too many and we have piles of magazines and sections of bookshelves filled with them, yet not in any organized way so that I go back and reread or find something significant in any of them. Just thought you might have some organizational ideas or might enjoy tracking one down :0)
