Birthday Wishes & Memories

Today our precious daughter celebrated her first birthday.
And I am hit with the reality that all of her firsts
will now be my lasts.
She is more likely than not my very last baby.
Time is moving quickly.
Doesn't it know I'm not in a hurry?

Today she tasted her first birthday cake.
Was sung "Happy Birthday" to for the first time.
And received the first of many birthday presents.

And I took a long last look at the baby she is now.
Sometime too soon, she will walk
and then she will run.
She will attempt to voice her opinions,
and then finally, she will make her own decisions

One year ago
I gave birth to a miracle.
Our family now had two boys and two girls.
A sister for my daughter.
Like the sister I always wished I had.

Perfect.
Just like God's timing.

Two years ago this month
I lost a pregnancy.
I was devastated.
Full of fear.
I prayed,
I cried,
I begged and I bargained.
Just for a miracle.
Just for a blessing.
Just for this moment.

God's timing is perfect.

Happy Birthday my darling baby girl.
Your middle name is Grace in honor of our Lord
because of the grace offered to us through the gift of you.
And what a gift you are.

She is a doll!!

This post really hits home! My Luke turns 1 Friday, and it is really tough for me. Mainly, because he will most likely be our last, too. At least I do have some really great pics to show off tomorrow morning. Come check them out! :o)
