I live in Australia so I know I can't be included... but I will leave our idea anyways
We have 3 daughters and my husband has a daddy daughter date with each of them alone on saturdays.. so 3 saturdays of the month he is busy!! of course we have other things to do so they are often only for 2 hours, but the girls get to choose what they want to do.
We calculated that since our 8 year old might only be home for another 10 years and if she gets 2 hours once a month alone with her dad she is only going to end up with like around 400 hours alone with her dad for him to teach her all the things we think important - that he loves her and that during her teenage years she needs to rely on us, not some other guy!!
So that is what we do and our girls love it.. we had a break over the holidays but are ready to get our calendars out and think of some activities.. daddy has even been lipgloss shopping once for a daddy daughter date!! Hes our hero

Daddy always reads a bedtime story. If he's away on business, he always packs enough books to read by telephone! Nothing stops this special ritual!
I didn't know that was a book. That was the song that my dad and I danced to at my wedding.
I've had my eye on this book for Father's Day. Anyway, my daughter and her daddy try to spend a little time every day playing together. Their favorite current pasttime is playing with a Hotwheels track and some racecars. I know, I know...not a very girly thing to do, but she loves it. And he does, too.
My daughter loves to spend time with her daddy anything from fishing to riding on the tractor to singing together with Johnny Cash on the radio is a blast for her! My favorite moments are when I catch them snuggling in bed together reading books under the covers after she's suppose to be in bed! LOL!!

My daughter and husband spend lots of time together two days a week when I'm at work. He takes her to Menards to play at their play area. She loves the time with him and I think he does, too!

I've got boys, but a favorite memory of me and my dad was the stories he would make up for me at bedtime. He had regular characters and I would give him an idea for the setting and the story would begin. :)
My daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia back in Oct. 07. I was pregnant at the time. She had doctor visits each week. I breast fed so I was home with our son. My daughter and her father became very very close. They have memories and struggles together that has truly shaped the person she has become. My little one is such a daddy's girl.

From the time my daughter was born, we had a ritual every night called "daddy bottle", and then of course as she got older we had replaced daddy bottle with daddy bedtime story. My husband works 7 days a week and even on holidays, so the time that she has with him is very precious. When he cannot be home, they send text photos on the phone back and forth at least once with a nice little "wave". It is very precious, and with my husband working so much, he is missing a lot of her milestones and accomplishments, but he is doing it for us. (so I can stay home with her) This would be a great book for one of their daddy bedtime stories. That you for giving us the opportunity to leave a comment. Thank you.
