What NOT to get this holiday season

It used to be when you weren't really sure what to get someone you got them a gift card.
This year, I think you'd better either get creative or give cash.

Clark Howard, the consumer reporter, suggests not giving gift cards at all this year because if the business goes under, the card is invalid. You need only open the newspaper to hear about all the major retailers that are closing stores in record numbers.

So, if you still are unsure what to purchase and you feel the need to send some sort of card or certificate, send this instead.

That is a very good idea! I'll have to stock up on some crisp bills this season!

Definitely great advice. I always try to look for deals anyways (so it appears as if I've spent more than I actually do). :)

Good point! Especially with SO many companies folding.
